The post on Railroad Safety was getting too long with all the addons and updates, so I started a new one with the rebirth of the Norfolk & Western J class 611. There will be many railfans along her path as she starts her third career. This may not be as exciting as the 100 mph photo runbys, but the J-611 takes her first baby steps since her restoration. With a successful test fire in her firebox, the J moved under her own power for the first time in 20 years and 153 days. After two years of work, The "Queen of Steam" starts her third career.
