We've known for over fifteen years that microwave cooking isn't all that safe, yet people are still using that method. My sixty years of experience in the Electronic Community revealed to me the dangers of Electromotive Force ( EMF ) and Radio (Electromagnetic Wave) Frequencies (RF ) Also known as Electromagnetic Field .
I do not own a microwave oven, nor do I talk over two minutes per week on a cellular phone. There is no escaping the electric radiation forces that we are exposed to unless you want to live in a Faraday Cage, but you can limit them.
========================================================================
The Hidden Dangers of Microwave Cooking
by Anthony Wayne and Lawrence Newell
Is it possible
that millions of people are ignorantly sacrificing their health in exchange for
the convenience of microwave ovens? Why did the Soviet Union ban the use of
microwave ovens in 1976? Who invented microwave ovens, and why? The answers to
these questions may shock you into throwing your microwave oven in the
trash.
Over 90% of American homes have microwave ovens used for meal
preparation. Because microwave ovens are so convenient and energy efficient, as
compared to conventional ovens, very few homes or restaurants are without them.
In general, people believe that whatever a microwave oven does to foods cooked
in it doesn't have any negative effect on either the food or them.
Of
course, if microwave ovens were really harmful, our government would never allow
them on the market, would they? Would they? Regardless of what has been
"officially" released concerning microwave ovens, we have personally stopped
using ours based on the research facts outlined in this article.

Electromagnetic Fields
Created by cell phones, power lines, computers and microwaves, as well as other electronic and magnetic devices, EMFs wreck havoc on the body. These fields induce brain fog, forgetfulness, anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue in those who are sensitive. The following three common appliances emit strong electromagnetic radiation and cause a variety of health disorders:

Like one of the people in the forum stated, "My brain hurts." I'm going to leave it at that. There are some inconsistancies and inaccuracies in the original story. Some of it sounds like mumbo-jumbo to the untrained, but some of it makes sense. Still more research to do. I'll be back.

25 Disturbing Facts About Psych Drugs, Soldiers and Suicides
|
(NaturalNews) We are living in an age of upside-downs, where
right is wrong, fiction is truth and war is peace. Those who fight the wars are subjected to their own house of mirrors via pharmaceutical "treatments." Instead of providing U.S. soldiers and veterans with actual health care, the government throws pills at them and calls it "therapyStimulants, antidepressants, anti-psychotics, sedatives and pain meds are the new "fuel" for America's front-line forces. While the idea of sending medicated soldiers into battle was unthinkable just three decades ago, today it's the status quo. And the cost in human lives has never been more tragic. Here are 25 disturbing facts about psych drugs, soldiers and suicides. They are disturbing because everybody seems to be pretending there is no link between psychiatric drugs and soldier suicides. So soldiers and veterans keep dying while the Pentagon (and the VA) keep pretending they don't know why. (Sources are listed at the bottom of this article.) 1) 33% of the U.S. Army is on prescription medications, and nearly a quarter of those are on psychotropic drugs 2) In 2010, the Pentagon spent $280 million on psychiatric drugs. That number has since risen. 3) There are now over 8,000 suicides each year by U.S. soldiers and veterans; that's over 22 a day 4) 33% of those suicides are attributed to medication side effects 5) That means medications are killing more U.S. soldiers and veterans than Al-Qaeda 6) 500% more soldiers abuse prescription drugs than illegal street drugs 7) Under the Obama administration, the number of veterans waiting for VA care has risen from 11,000 in 2009 to 245,000 today 8) More active duty soldiers die from suicide than from combat: 349 dead last year 9) The number of prescriptions for Ritalin and Adderall written for active-duty soldiers has increased 1,000% in the last five years 10) For every active-duty service member who dies in battle, 25 veterans die by suicide 11) Only 1 percent of Americans have served in the Middle East, but veterans of combat there make up 20% of all suicides in the United States 12) The suicide rate of active-duty soldiers in the Civil War was only 9 - 15 per 100,000 soldiers. The suicide rate of active-duty U.S. soldiers in the Middle East is 23 per 100,000. And casualty rates were far higher in the Civil War, meaning the Civil War was more psychologically traumatic. 13) In the Korean War, the suicide rate among active-duty military soldiers was only 11 per 100,000 14) To date, the Pentagon has spent more than a billion dollars on psychiatric drugs, making it one of the largest customers of Big Pharma 15) In 2010, over 213,000 active-duty military personnel were taking medications considered "high risk" by the Pentagon 16) In the years since the Iraq War began, twice as many soldiers of the Texas Army National Guard have died of suicide than in combat 17) Defense Secretary Leon Panetta calls military suicides an "epidemic" 18) Of all the branches of the military, the Army has the highest number of suicides each year, almost 400% more than the Marines 19) Most active-duty soldiers who take psychiatric medications consume a combination of three to five prescriptions 20) The use of prescription medications by active-duty soldiers is largely unregulated. Soldiers are given a bottle of meds and sent into combat. If they run out of meds, they are given a refill, no questions asked. 21) The mainstream media says the answer to lowing suicides of veterans is to take away their guns so that they cannot shoot themselves. This is the logical equivalent to trying to fix your car's engine by removing the "check engine" light. 22) The Pentagon is initiating new research (in 2013) to try to figure out why psychiatric medications cause soldiers to commit suicide. The research involves tracking brain activity by attaching electrodes to the skull. 23) One-third of military suicides are committed by soldiers who have never seen combat 24) In the last year, the military wrote over 54,000 prescriptions for Seroquel to soldiers, and all those prescriptions were "off label," meaning the intended use has never been approved by the FDA as safe or effective. 25) Dr. Bart Billings, a retired Army Colonel and former military psychologist, refers to psychiatric drugs as a "chemical lobotomy" for soldiers. Nobody Is Above the Law.
"If you're caught with an ounce of cocaine, the chances are good you're going to go to jail. If it happens repeatedly, you may go to jail for the rest of your life. But evidently, if you launder nearly a billion dollars for drug cartels and violate international sanctions, your company pays a fine and you go home and sleep in your own bed at night...I think that's fundamentally wrong." ~ Senator Elizabeth Warren - U.S. Senator from Massachusettes

The Cost of the Royal Family
With most Americans struggling in this weak economy, many without employment, this is immoral.
The Cost of the Royal Family
What can you buy for $1.4 BILLION a year?
You can buy the most luxurious and costly royal presidency in history. Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks. In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.
Author Robert Keith Gray writes in "Presidential Perks Gone Royal" that Obama isn't the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.
Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 BILLION spent on the Obama family last year is the "total cost of the presidency" factoring the cost of the "biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever," a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One "running with the frequency of a scheduled airline."
Perspective: $1.4 BILLION is equal to spending seven times Mitt Romney's entire net-worth every year. If Romney had to pay for Barack and Michelle's lifestyle this year, he would have been bankrupted by the third week in February.
Now, can we please get back to talking about the evil, freeloading rich, "who didn't build that?"

President's family costs US 20 times what royal family costs UK
9/30/2012
U.K. newspapers are having a little chuckle about a new book reporting that Obama's family cost U.S. taxpayers $1.4 billion last year alone, whereas the royal family cost the U.K. a measly $57.8 million – more than 20 times less than the First Family. Obama's expenditures include the salaries of his staff and Secret Service, as well as the maintenance of Air Force One, which he's required to take (and has been using increasingly in this election year). The comparison is being emphasized to advertise "non-partisan" author Robert Gray's book "Presidential Perks Gone Royal." Still, before you get too hot under the collar, if you estimate the current number of taxpayers in the U.S. at around 216 million, that's roughly $6.48 per taxpayer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big-spending Obamas cost 23 times more than British royal family

Media scrubs Malia Obama vacation story.

"Neither President Obama nor first lady Michelle appear to give a damn about perception. They won the White House and, by God, they’re going to enjoy their time there, no matter the cost. And who cares what you think, anyway?"

Sad State of Affairs
I'll have to title this post later, as I just don't know how to put a name on it.
This goes way back so far, that I don't know where to begin. If time and resources permit, I'll try to pick a starting point without telling the whole history of Portsmouth and how it became what it is today.
This is just the latest in the saga from the article in the Virginian-Pilot Newspaper (Pilot-on-Line) on the recent City Council meeting.
Tempers Flare Portsmouth As Council Delays Hirings
"Portsmouth's City Council should hire the most qualified candidate to be our permanent City Manager, not let the decision be influenced by special interest groups. I fully support a transparent and equitable application process and look forward to ensuring no outside organizations attempt to illegally influence City Council." ~ Danny Meeks
"For too long, special interest groups have sought to control Portsmouth through its City Council. I am determined to stop these lobbying efforts so Portsmouth's City Council can make unbiased decisions that benefit all our citizens." Honorable Danny Meeks, City Councilman, Portsmouth, Virginia
( Danny Meeks is a member of the Portsmouth City Council, receiving over 23% of the total vote count in the 2012 election cycle.)
It's no secret what has been going on in Portsmouth for years. Ask anybody in the city, the region or the State, for that matter. It has lived up to its reputation. There are a few good citizens who have tried to preserve the quaint uniqueness of my Hometown, and have put everything they have into public service, but it's been a hard row to plow.
I'll be updating this post until they carry me away. Anything you can add will be appreciated. No personal attacks, please. We'll know who you are referring to by the content of your post.

By direction of the Portsmouth City Council, effective January 8, 2013, the Non-Agenda Speakers portion of regular meetings is no longer televised on PCTV nor available for viewing at the city website and on the YouTube “Portsmouth VA” channel. As a public service, PortsmouthCityWatch.org is recording this important portion of our community conversation and intends to continue doing so until council rescinds its censorship policy. To date only Council Members William Moody and Elizabeth Psimas have expressed support in public for resuming the televising/webcasting of council proceedings in their entirety.
